The Thermo Scientific Orion 9165BNWP Sure Flow combination pH electrode has an epoxy body, a free-flow junction for use with dirty and viscous samples, a pH range of 0 to 14, a refillable silver/silver chloride (Ag/AgCl) internal reference, and a 4M KCI external reference for prolonging the life of the electrode. The 9165BNWP has an epoxy body that extends beyond the sensing bulb for durability, and a waterproof Bayonet Neill-Concelman (BNC) connection with a 1 m (39") cable. The electrode has a small hole for refilling the KCl fill solution, which prolongs the life of the electrode. This electrode can be used to test dirty and viscous samples because of the free-flow junction. The junction can be cleaned by pressing down the cap between measurements, which allows the filling solution to flow through the junction and clear contaminants.
pH range is 0 to 14 (+ or - 0.02 pH), temperature range is 0 to 100 degrees C (32 to 212 degrees F) and body dimensions are 120 mm (4.72”) length x 12 mm diameter (0.47”) body, 16 mm diameter cap, with a 39” (1 m) cable. Buffer and storage solutions must be purchased separately.
pH electrodes are used in pH meters and testers to measure the acidity or alkalinity of a substance. They are often constructed of glass, which senses hydrogen ions, and generates a millivoltage that is picked up by the filling solution and transferred to a wire that connects to the pH meter.
